
The ‘cleanest’ of the series.
I chose a piece of oak for this that already had the beginnings of a serious split in it. After shaping on the lathe, it was rapidly dried in a microwave and then left for several days on a radiator to accentuate the split. Saw cuts were then made to complete the destruction.
The piece was reassembled using stainless steel rods to create a form that is essentially just an expanded form of the original.
