Created after studying high speed photographs of small droplets hitting a dead flat pond, this piece was always intended to be the most natural and realistic of the series.
The variation of ripple height, shape and gap give the work a true feeling of movement.
Sugar Maple was chosen as the medium to ensure that the eye would focus on the shapes and not be distracted by colour or figure of the wood.
