Ripples #5
All traces of reality have gone with this piece. There is no droplet shape; there is no splash pattern; there are no definable ripples.
I wanted to create a sense of fluidity without the discernable features of the previous pieces.
The droplet has now become part of the water that it is hitting and the ripples have become merely the fluid curves of the centre and edge of the piece.
Once again, I chose African Padauk, but this time it was for the pool-like effect that is created by the very rich colours and the deep gloss finish given by this beautiful wood.
